On Nov.3rd, organized by the CPAFFC, Committee on Industry, Manufacturing and Maquiladora of Chamber of Deputies of Mexico and Enlace Económico Cultural Mexico-China (Mexico-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Center), the 4th? Seminar on Economy and Business of China-Mexico Strategic Partners in 21st Century was held in Beijing. CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin, Vice President Xie Yuan, Senator Teofilo Torres Corzo, President of Committee of Asia-Pacific Foreign Relations of the Mexican Senate, H.E. Mr. Julian Ventura, the Mexican Ambassador to China, Senator. Lilia Guadalupe Merodio Reza, Secretary-General of the Mexican Senate, Deputy Luis Murguia, Secretary-General of Committee on Industry, Manufacturing and Maquiladora of Chamber of Deputies, the persons in charge of The Export-Import Bank of China, China Federation of Industrial Economics, China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector, and the Chinese and Mexican enterprises attended the seminar. President Li made the keynote speech at the opening ceremony and met with the major Mexican guests before the seminar.

At the invitation of CPAFFC, Mr. Kim Sungyup, ex-Council Member of the Korean Foundation, led a 120-member delegation of the Republic of Korea Young Friendship Envoys and paid a visit to Beijing, Hebei and Zhejiang in China from 26 October to 2 November 2014.? The delegation consisted of entrepreneurs, artists, deaf-mutes and middle school students. Vice President Hu Sishe of CPAFFC, Vice Governor Qin Boyong of Hebei Province, President Yang Quanshe and Executive Vice President Ye Changqing of Hebei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Vice Mayor Yan Liying of Baoding city, and Executive Vice President Chen Aizhen of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries respectively met with for the ROK delegation. Under the theme of “Journey of the Romance of Three Kingdoms”, the delegation visited San Yi Palace where the story of “taking pledge of brotherhood in peach garden” took place, Temple of Zhao Yun and the home village of Sun Quan. Besides, activities were also arranged for the delegation with Chinese enterprises, economic development area, universities, foreign language school, art school, special-education institute and youth organization. The visit exchange program of China and ROK young friendship envoys was initiated by the CPAFFC and the Korean Foundation in 2009. About 2300 students from both countries have participated up to now. At the invitation of the CPAFFC, a delegation from the Association for Sri Lanka China Social and Cultural Cooperation headed by its President Mr. Indrananda Abeysekera visited Beijing and Shandong Province between 24th and 29th October.? In Beijing, Vice President Hu Sishe of the CPAFFC met with the delegation and exchanged views about the implementation of Sri Lanka China people-to-people exchange programs that were initiated during Hu’s visit to Sri Lanka earlier this June. Issues regarding the Third China South Asia Friendship Organizations’ Forum to be held in Sri Lanka in 2015 were also discussed at the meeting. In Shandong, Executive Vice President Mr. Zhang Jigang of the Shandong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with the delegation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Strengthening Friendship & Cooperation Between Association for Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Cooperation and Shandong People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The delegation also held meetings with the Shandong University of Arts, CCPIT Shandong Sub-council and etc.

On Oct. 25th , 2014, CPAFFC Vice President Hu Sishe met and dined the chief representatives of currency issuers from various countries, including Mr. Rémy Baillet, Rodolphe Krempp, CEO and Deputy Director of Monnaie de Paris, Mr. Ian Graham, Marketing Director of Royal Canadian Mint, Dr. Prabir De from Royal Australian Mint, Mr. Neil Vance from Australian Perth Mint, Ms. Lisa Elward from The Royal Mint of U.K, Mr. Zhang Hanqiao, GM of China Gold Coin Incorporation, who were attending the seminar on issuing commemorative coin for 70th anniversary of Victory of World Anti-fascist War in the CPAFFC. The year 2015 is the 70th anniversary of Victory of World Anti-fascist War. In order to commemorate this major event, and spread the idea of peace, friendship, cooperation and development, the currency issuers from various countries attended the seminar in Beijing, by the chance of visiting the 2014 Beijing Coin Expo. The attendants discussed on the issuing plan of the theme commemorative coin, at the same time jointly initiated the advocacy of issuing the commemorative coin to the world, expecting more countries take part in the issuing plan and working together for the cause of world peaceful development. Vice President Hu thanked the chief representatives for attending the seminar. He hoped to work with the institutions present at the seminar, to express the CPAFFC’s common wish for peace to the world by means of coin, a greatly well-recognized carrier. Zhou Ruiming, Secretary-General of Commission for Economic Cooperation of CPAFFC were present at the meeting.

Organized by CPAFFC and the Zambia Embassy in China, the celebration of 50th Anniversary of China-Zambia Diplomatic Relations was held in Beijing on October 24, 2014. H.E. Mr. Abdul’ahat Abdulrixit, President of the Chinese-African People’s Friendship Association, Mr. Hu Sishe, Vice President of CPAFFC, H.E. Madame Getrude Kasuba Mwape, Ambassador of Zambia to China and other 300 geusts from all fields attended the celebration. In his speech, Mr. Hu said that the two countries have frequently exchanged high-level visits, enhanced mutual political trust, supported each other and kept close copperation in international affairs in the past 50 years. China hopes to work closely with Zambia to push the bilateral relations to a higher level and let the China-Zambia friendship pass on generation after generation. Ambassador Mwape said in his speech that Zambia-China friendship is forged by the old leaders. Zambia appreciates the great help from China in its development and hopes to work with China to further promote the cooperation in all fields.

On Oct. 24th, 2014, CPAFFC Vice President Xie Yuan met with H.E. Mr. Jorge Heine, the new ambassador to China of Republic of Chile. Vice President Xie congratulated Ambassador Heine on his new post in China, and thanked him for his efforts on promoting the non-governmental diplomacy between China and Chile as an old friend of the CPAFFC. Vice President Xie briefed the ambassador about the recent friendship-to-Chile works that CPAFFC has done. He hoped the mechanism of China-Chile friendship cities could play its role to further promote the exchanges and cooperation of the two countries.? Ambassador Heine thanked Vice President Xie for holding the meeting in his tight schedule. He said, this was his first official call after he presented his credentials to the Chinese President Xi Jinping. He spoke highly of the important role that the CPAFFC played in friendly contact between the two countries, and expressed that the new government of Chile attached great importance to the cooperation of the two local governments between the two countries. He wished to further the connection and deepen the cooperation with the CPAFFC.

Organized by CPAFFC and the Tanzania Embassy in China, the celebration of 50th Anniversary of China-Tanzania Diplomatic Relations was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse Beijing on October 23, 2014. H.E. Mr. Li Yuanchao, Vice President of China, H.E. Dr. Jakaya M. Kikwete, President of Tanzania and other 500 geusts from all fields attended the celebration. Madame Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC and H.E. Mr. Abdulrahaman A. Shimbo, Ambassador of Tanzania to China delivered welcome remarks. Vice President Li Yuanchao Addressing the Celebration Li Yuanchao said in his speech that the two peoples have supported each other since the forging of diplomatic ties 50 years ago, adding both countries had become good all-weather friends. Invited by the Youth Sport Association NRW of Germany, Chinese youth delegation, composed of students from Beijing Normal University and young staff of our association visited Germany from 15th to 23rd October to attend the Young Leaders Exchange Programme of China, India and Germany. In the exchange programme, young people from China, India and Germany shared their individual thoughts and values about family, friends and society through activities such as theme presentation, sports exercises and homestay in German families. The programme promoted mutual understanding and friendship among all the participants.????

At the CPAFFC’s invitation, Mr. Harry C. Angping, former Congressman of the Philippines, and Madam Naida Angping visited Beijing and Shanghai from 14th to 20th October, 2014. Vice President Feng Zuoku of CPAFFC and Vice President Yu Jianhao of Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Mr. Angping and Madam, holding discussions on further strengthening China-Philippines people-to-people exchanges. During the visit, Mr. Angping and Madam focused on learning about China’s development in high-speed train, machinery manufacturing and food processing. They also held talks with relevant enterprises and professional councils.

On October 20th, Vice President Xie Yuan met with Ms. Elizabeth Harrington, CEO of E. Harrington Global. Vice President Xie introduced the upcoming events to be held by CPAFFC and thanked her for her continuous support to China-U.S. friendship cause. Ms. Harrington expressed her pleasure of meeting with Vice President Xie and her willingness to continue working with the CPAFFC to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between U.S. and Chinese business circles and other sectors.
