CPAFFC Secretary-General Li Xikui Led the Chinese Youth Delegation to Thailand
The Thai-Chinese Young Executive Program (TCYEP), initiated by CPAFFC, Chinese Embassy in Thailand and Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, was held from March 1st to 6th 2015 in Thailand. CPAFFC Secretary General Li Xikui led the Chinese youth delegation to attend the event.
H. R. H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Vice Prime Minister Pridiyathorn Devakul, Prof. Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, President of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA),met the Thai and Chinese young delegates respectively.
The delegates from two countries attended a NLA meeting and two seminars with the themes of “Thailand-China Relations and the Peace and Development of South East Asia”as well as “Broaden Your Prospective toward China-Thailand AEC Community” respectively. The delegations also visited the Chachoengsao province for the “Students Lunch Project”which was sponsored by Princess Sirindhorn.
ASLCSCC Calls On Sri Lankan Authority to Re-consider Its Decision of Suspending China-funded Project
The government of Sri Lanka has decided to suspend the USD 1.4 billion Colombo Port City project funded by a Chinese enterprise, who has been required to provide legitimate license issued by relevant authorities.
Association for Sri Lanka China Social and Cultural Cooperation (ASLCSCC), a close partner of the CPAFFC, said, the? Chinese funded Colombo Port City project will enormously boost social and economic development by bringing huge capital support for the development of Sri Lanka and employment opportunities for local Sri Lankan, hence the association called on President of Sri Lanka to reconsider the decision of the authority to suspend the construction of the Port City project.
Mr. Indrananda Abeysekera, President of the ASLCSCC, said that they were shocked to learn that the government of Sri Lanka made the indiscreet decision to suspend the construction because of the appeal of certain political party. The ASLCSCC earnestly requested the government to act in the significant interests of the development of the country, give green light to the Port City project, and clear all negative impacts of the suspension of the project.
Vice President Lin Yi Attends Opening Ceremony of 5th Cross-Strait Spring Festival Folklore Fair at Taiwan
From Feb 18th to 22nd, 5th Cross-Strait Spring Festival Folklore Fair co-organized by China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, Chinese Culture Friendship Association and Henan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) was held in Taizhong City. This year’s fair covers world famous Shaolin Martial Art, Taichi Kungfu, Henan folk performance, traditional handcraft, local special food, calligraphy and photo exhibition, and porcelain exhibition. The above events presented the soul of folk culture of central China. CPAFFC Vice President Li Yin led a delegation to visit Taiwan and attended the opening ceremony.

In her address at the opening ceremony, Vice President Lin Yi said, this year is the Year of the Goat. In ethic Chinese’s mind, goat is docile animal. In ancient China, the Chinese character of goat is alternative with auspiciousness. So this year must be a peaceful and harmonious year. I believe this year’s Cross-Strait Spring Festival Folklore Fair will bring all the visitors unique experiences. At the same time, she indicated that the success of this fair will further strengthen the sense of the same root and ancestor of compatriots in Taiwan, as well as draw near the distance of the people across the strait. And will be of great significance for promoting the cultural exchanges cross the strait.
Deputy Director General Zhang Ruoning of Department of European & Asian Affairs Meets with the EU Delegation to China
On February 10th, Ms. Zhang Ruoning, Deputy Director General of the Department of European & Central Asian Affairs met with Mr. Mattias Lentz, Minister Counsellor, Head of Political Section; Mr. William Fingleton, Head of Press Section of the EU Delegation to China. “South Africa in Chengdu” Photo Exhibition Launches
“South Africa in Chengdu” Photo Exhibition, organized by the CPAFFC, the South African Embassy in Beijing and Chengdu Municipal People’s Friendship Association, was opened in Chengdu on January 30, 2015. CPAFFC Vice President Feng Zuoku, South African Charge d’Affaires Rosemary Mashaba and Deputy Director General of Chengdu Foreign Affairs Office Lv Tianyi attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
“South Africa in Chengdu” Photo Exhibition is an important event connecting 2014 Year of South Africa in China and 2015 Year of China in South Africa. Through these splendid photos, Chengdu citizens will enjoy South Africa’s beautiful natural scenery, culture and art, urban landscape and local live, and will feel the charm of Rainbow Nation.
The exhibition will last till February 3, 2015.
Launching Ceremony of the China-Pakistan Year of Friendly Exchanges Held in Beijing

Launching Ceremony of the China-Pakistan Year of Friendly Exchanges co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Embassy of Pakistan was held in Beijing on January 28th. Vice President Li Yuanchao of China and Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of Pakistan National Assembly attended the function.Before the ceremony, Vice President Li Yuanchao met briefly with Speaker Sadiq and his delegation.Both sides spoke highly of bilateral friendship and all-weather strategic partnership, and said that both countries will take this opportunity to carry out a series of political, economic and people-to-people exchange programs. CPAFFC Vice President Feng Zuoku and Pakistan Ambassador Masood Khalid delivered speeches respectively at the ceremony .
In February 2014,President Xi Jinping met with visiting President Mamnoon Hussain. The Joint Statement between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on "Deepening China-Pakistan Strategic and Economic Cooperation“was issued, in which both sides agreed on designating 2015 as the China-Pakistan Year of Friendly Exchanges.
Vice President Feng Zuoku attended the Charity Bazaar at Singapore Embassy in Beijing
On January 25th, a Charity Bazaar was cohosted by the Singapore Embassy in Beijing, Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (SingCham) and China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA). This project aimed to raise fund in support of earthquake stricken Ludian County in Yunnan Province and also to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Sino-Singapore Diplomatic Relationship and the 50th Anniversary of Singaporean Independence Vice President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. Singapore Ambassador in China Stanley Loh, CFPA President Duan Yingbi and SingCham Chairperson Dorothy Seet attended the event.
Reception Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Sino-Afghanistan Diplomatic Relations Held in Beijing
The Reception Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Sino-Afghanistan Diplomatic Relations cohosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Embassy of Afghanistan was held in Beijing on 23rd January, 2015. Chinese dignitaries include Madam Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Mr. Liu Zhenmin, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the CPAFFC, officials from International Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Defence, All-China Youth Federation and All-China Women’s Federation etc. Afghanistan Ambassador Mohammad Kabir Farahi, diplomats of the Afghanistan Embassy, Afghani residents and students in China, diplomats of South Asian countries in Beijing attended the reception. Madam Shen Yueyue and Ambassador Farahi unveiled the commemorative envelop for the 60th China-Afghanistan diplomatic ties together. CPAFFC Vice President Feng Zuoku and Ambassador Farahi delivered speeches.

Annual Meeting of China-Romania Friendship Association Held
The annual meeting of China-Romania Friendship Association (CRFA) was held on January 16th, 2015. At the meeting, the summary of CRFA’s work in 2014 was made; the working plan and vision for year 2015 were issued. President Liu Guchang of CRFA, Vice President Li Jianping of the Chinese People''s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other leaders attended the meeting.
