On the morning of July 29, 2025, the opening ceremony of the "Remembering Heroes—Flying Tigers Photo Exhibition (Anhui)" was held in Hefei. Sun Yong, Vice Governor of Anhui Province; Lu Xiangdong, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC); and Jeffrey Greene, Chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, and other distinguished guests, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.
Vice President Lu Xiangdong extended his congratulations on the opening of the "Remembering Heroes—Flying Tigers Photo Exhibition (Anhui)" in Hefei, noting that these precious historical photographs not only capture the courage and sense of duty displayed amid the smoke of battle, but also document the trust and mutual assistance that transcended national boundaries. Anhui, with its profound historical heritage and proud revolutionary traditions, is an especially fitting host for this exhibition—both as an act of remembrance and as a testament to the value placed on peace and the enduring legacy of friendship.
Guided by the CPAFFC, the exhibition is co-hosted by the Anhui Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, and the Wangjiang County People's Government. It features five thematic sections: "United Against the Enemy: The Formation of the American Flying Tigers"; "Fighting Shoulder to Shoulder: Sino-American Military and Civilian Cooperation in the War of Resistance Against Japan"; "Life-and-Death Rescues: Friendships Forged in Blood and Fire"; "Victory in the War of Resistance: The Eternal Legacy of Aviation Heroes"; and "Anhui's Military and Civilian Efforts to Rescue American Pilots." Through a compelling collection of historical images, the exhibition offers a systematic presentation of the Flying Tigers' formation, the profound bonds forged between Chinese and American soldiers and civilians in the face of mortal danger, and the triumphant moments marking victory in the War of Resistance.
